As we glide into the turquoise blue bay, my chest swells with a sense of recognition and the entire world around me holds its breathe. The rattle of the Long Tail boat’s rusty propeller falls silent, and the limestone cliffs boldly shoot skyward as they enclose us in the smooth transparent waters. An invisible veil has dropped around us.
I am seized by an unnamable as I take it all in. It’s that sweet mixture of peace and longing that settles over your heart without explanation.
The water is warm and so salty I float effortlessly. Gazing up at the outline of the cliffs against the blue sky I feel expansive and free.
It is with deep gratitude that I relish moments such as these.
